|
|
http://www.guitarhero.com/forums/8/forum_topics/32770
We recently became aware that some consumers have not been able to enjoy the full audio output in the Wii version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. We are currently working with Nintendo and are planning to issue an improved audio experience in future versions of the game. We expect to have re-mastered discs available by early 2008 and we will be offering consumers replacement discs at no cost once they become available. Should you have any further inquiries, please contact Activision customer support at http://www.activision.com/support. Customers based in North America wanting to pre-register for a free replacement disc can call (866) 780-8286 and we will notify you once the replacement discs are available. We thank all of our customers for their support and patience. _________________

I called yesterday. Some people have been rejected because they said they didn't have surround sound. So if they ask, say yes. |

Thanks that will help. Sometimes if I activated star power the crowd sound wouldn't work and when I strum a note at certain times it wouldn't make a sound. Do we have to call to get the new disc? Or do we have to wait until it's available to call/contact them via e-mail for it? _________________

Cool, even though this didn't really matter that much, it'll still be awesome to get stereo.
Wouldn't it be even awesomer if the new discs had a DLC section for songs?! Though probably not, cause they would tell us that. Or would they? _________________

And this has been news for about a month. |
^ = my post exactly. What's the point of posting this? This only makes me worry about no DLC section even more bc it wasnt announced here.
Still, its great that were atleast getting replacement discs. _________________

Mmm... Dolby Surround. That'll go great with the master tracks. But still, keep working as quickly as possible on that DLC. I HUNGER. |

the point of posting this is that now theres actually a number out to call to pre-register. to my knowledge that phone number was not available before.
good find. i dont know if i'll bother to make the switch. i'll wait and see if they've fixed anything important. stereo sound isn't the highest thing on my priority list considering i play on a 15+ year old tube TV with only one working speaker. _________________

What about for us outside Australia? Can we go to EB Games and get one or something? |

I'm hoping that the remastered discs will also be preloaded to be more compatible with the DLC once they get it out. |

thanks for the number and the announcement. I wouldn't bother looking anywhere else for a remastered version of GH3. _________________

Mkay, I work at GameStop and when this was first announced we (me and my co-workers) were worried about something.
When these "Replacement Discs" are available, is Activision going to require the person mails in their old disc in exchange for a new one? How's it going to work? Because we really don't want a flood of the "old" discs being traded in for 5$ at GS >_< _________________
