I would be in a band if there were people who don't play anything that isn't John Mayer or post Black Album Metallica

I'm the drummer for a band called Killing Kelsey. Personally, I think it sounds too emo for us and has no real meaning but it'll do for now.
We play post-hardcore/metal ish stuff and might have a chance to play a show with Oceana since our vocalist/rhythm-guitarist knows them.

Pretty much anything with "Kill" in it is going to sound really heavy for a band name, unless it has something not deathy with it. (i.e. Bikini Kill)

I started a garage band with my friends. We just love to jam around to songs we like but as soon as we get all the band members together and all our proper instruments well start writing as a serious band. Im the drummer, were looking for a guitar player. Im not too sure about our bassist. Me and our singer are the main members. We are a very dysfuctional group we all have different tastes completely. I love thrash/progressive metal while our singer likes horror punk and our bassist likes alternative/punk.

I've had no luck in finding musicians around here who aren't in their 50's or are 15 y/o scene kids. The bands that do exist around here just play 3 minute breakdowns while 8th graders do karate kicks in their Chuck Taylors.

We just recently started writing original material....(mainly melodeathesque stuff.)

But because everyone in the band prefers different kinds of metal, it'll add some pretty nice variety to our song writing.

My brother plays bass
A weird Indian kid named Akbar plays guitar and he is insanely fast •_•
And I my bro does vocals as well.

We are really unknown...but we do ocassionally get gigs at small places.....like....parties....and stuff

You bet, I'm in quite a few bands, actually!

I'm the Guitarist, Bassist, Synth player, and occasional drummer for Bluefusion, which has a full album out now, which is all Buckethead influenced, heh. Check out the Android Anarchy album if you want, that's the finished one, and the one with all the RBN content on it!

Then there's Freen in Green, a way more experimental and lax take on music, inspired by video game music. We're going for catchy riffs that'll stick in your head, and a more "Gorillaz"y approach. Fun stuff!

There's Jet Aircraft Ego, and It's-A Mike! (With Mike Pollock), but those two are extreme WIP's and I don't have enough material to show.

EDIT: Also, as my signature says, Bluefusion is looking for a singer! =) If anyone thinks they could lend a hand, that'd be awesome!

myspace.com/thechiefsmusic

I'm the keyboard player. We have some new tracks fresh from the studio, with more comin' your way!

EDIT: My solos for that third song are the wrong ones. I recorded better ones, but I guess they got lost?

My band is called Corrupted by Choice. I write all the music, manage it, and play lead guitar.

Youtube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/CorruptedByChoice

Blog: http://corruptedbychoice.blogspot.com/

We only have two songs done so far, but are almost done with a third. Our style varies alot. Just look at the 2 songs that are out now. The Flood is more of a Metallica/Megadeth song while Patty's Song is more of a Boston/The Police type song (or at least that was the hope).

I'm in a band, but we're just starting up. We're called Toolshed Of Torture and there's only me(the guitarist) and my friend(the drummer). We've got some material written, but we don't have a full line-up yet.

^ I take it that it's a reference to Left 4 Dead? Sounds fun XD!

So! How many of you other metal/hardcore/whatever bands, since you started playing, began playing softer and more jazzy or experimental stuff? I hear that's a common thing, and Bluefusion was definitely going down that road. Freen in Green was my ultimate outlet with that, so Bluefusion should go back to being more metal now. But I'm still happy with my more experimental phase. =)
