I think it looks pretty dumb too, but I'm curious how you see it as glitchy. |

If I'm holding a real guitar, you'll bet I'll be playing some music on it, not a game. When I'm holding a GH Guitar, THEN I'm playing a game. _________________

QFT. why would you bother playing a game with a real guitar when you have GH instead. and hell, GH probably has a hell of a lot better songs in it anyway. |

Post above is true. Pause the screen at 0:44 and you can see the song Miss Mary Mack???? But seiously why would you play a game on a real guitar. I thought guitars were made for real music?? _________________

If this was used to TEACH guitar, then I might buy it. _________________
I play every GH/RB game on 360 now, but my PS2 scores are still up, just outdated. Just FYI.
Why aren't religious people considered conspiracy theorists? They believe there's a "behind the scenes" operation going on.

Well since no one else here has actually TRIED the game and I have, I figured I might as well make some points.
The goal of the developers is to teach people how to play songs on a real guitar. They do this by utilizing a sneaky and oft attempted teaching method called "PLAY", you may have heard of it, it's where educators attempt to 'teach' some set of skills or lessons by incorporating them into an activity that the students would deem 'fun'.
Snarky attitude aside; yes, they are trying to teach people how to play guitar by introducing the concepts to them in a now highly recognizable gaming format.
I have never picked up a real guitar in my life before I picked up this one hooked up to a computer, and at about 10 seconds into a song ('Smoke on the Water') I had learned how to read simple guitar tabs that corresponded to frets and strings on the guitar. It was an easy concept to grasp and pick up for someone, like myself, who has played Guitar Hero since the day it came out.
I can very easily see this 'game' as a great method to learn real guitar, especially for people like me who learn better through 'play'.
So for the people who claim to already be real guitar gods, this 'game' wouldn't hold much appeal would it? Perhaps not, then again, perhaps you would want to be the next ES942 or HellAshes (albeit of the real-guitar-game-simulation world) by constantly posting the top scores on the songs at the Expert difficulty (assuming of course that they have some sort of leaderboards system).
Sure the presentation leaves a lot to be desired, but from what I played, the core functionality, what matters most, is there and it is solid. This thing isn't supposed to come out until the end of the year anyway, who's to say a graphical overhaul won't happen in the meantime?
So please reserve de-constructive criticism until the damn thing is actually out and you can give it a shot, otherwise you are no better than the people posting hateful comments on Guitar Hero when it was first announced so many moons ago. _________________

It actually looks like it would TEACH you guitar. I would definitely be interested in this since I've tried guitar before and had no luck.
This looks like it would be a fun way to get better at guitar. Of course, once I beat expert and got really good at the game (if that were to happen) I would probably just play reel GuITAR1!!!!1! by itself. |

Okay, so you need to buy yourself a real guitar... (what are the costs of that?) and how does it 'record' the sound? Do you need to plug it in, or do you need a quiet room?
But if it teaches you to play, does it only teach you how to play the couple of songs they provide, or is there a real 'teach' mode in which you learn different techniques?
So many questions and so little answers.
Somehow the cost of it all is a lot higher than playing GH. And you get a crappy interface for it as well.
But somehow I think this could be a success for the people who love playing GH so much that they want to learn how to play a real guitar... |

QFT. Although, it looks like this thing would be able to teach you how to play real guitar... I might be looking in to this more... _________________

That looks quite interesting, but it seems like the audience would be pretty niche, basically consisting of:
people who like Guitar Hero and are interested enough in learning guitar to buy a real guitar but not get lessons.
or
people who own a guitar but it's been ages since they played/they never successfully learned how to play in the first place, but Guitar Hero has made them interested in trying to play again.
Because yeah, I can't imagine real guitarists particularly chomping at the bit to play this. But for people who want to transition between GH and real guitar, I could see the appeal. Still, it requires an investment in the actual guitar, which may be offputting for many. _________________

It looks like this game is either fake or it is really easy to cheat on.
idk =/
Maybe it works off of the tone of the note your holding and it decides if its right or wrong, I wonder what would happen if you use a reverb or some type of distortion on that game. |
