|

as in The Joker, Shiver, Hey Man Nice Shot. Anytime the majority of the song is a really low pitch. I can't seem to get my voice that low consistently and it's really frustrating :/
Anyone got any tips? _________________

easy to say but not quite as helpful when I don't really know how to accomplish that.
I know an octave is a wave with half or double the wave length of the original but yeah.... i don't really know how to translate that into singing. ![](images/smiles/aiwebs_007.gif) _________________

Instead of a low octave C, for example, just sing a C again, but in a higher octave. It's the same note, but in a different octave. _________________

Ok i think i'm starting to get the hang of it but it gets a bit confusing switching octaves for just a couple words in a phrase. Ima keep working at it. _________________

Think of it as a "rollover" effect. Let's say the ball is near the top, and the next note is at the bottom. Instead of dropping your pitch a whole bunch, try raising your pitch just a little. The ball will go higher than the track, and "rollover" to the bottom. |

Try this exercise:
Pick a starting pitch - preferably a one low in your vocal range.
Now sing do re mi fa so la ti do ti la so fa mi re do - going up and down the scale.
The do's are one octave apart. After you sing the scale a couple times, try skipping between do's. do DO do.
Repeat this with different pitches. Eventually, you should be able to sing octaves for any given pitch, without going through the entire scale. |
