What kind of drumsticks are best for drums?

And fairly inexpensive too- like the $10-15$ dollar range.

I am a big fan of Vic Firth sticks. Their claim to fame is that they have a 'tone matching' process where they pair sticks based on their natural tone (and they also make sure they are weight matched). I used Zildjian sticks earlier in my career, but got fed up with getting so many warped sticks right from the store. Vic Firth also seems to be better about weeding out their crooked members before they make it to the store.

Vic Firth Manufacturing process:

Sticks I currently use (On my E-Kit):

I use the sticks Lars Ulrich used while recording Death Magnetic (the actual sticks)
Ahead aluminum body, nylon head. Not sure what size. Also has grip tape. Can be seen here

And unless the OP can buy those somewhere for $10-15, your point is...?

For World Tour I find the ones which come with the game to be fine, but IRL I use Vic Firth's. As the guy above said - they're very good.

My Zildjian Anti-Vibes work fine for me, they have a solid feel while reducing the vibration transferring to my hands/wrists.

My current sticks are a pair of Vic Firth 5BNs with mushroom nylon beads.

I read somewhere (can't remember where) that nylon is better than wood for playing electronic pads...

vic virth 5bw

just started using this stick recently and i love it. Price isnt really an issue with drumsticks. Especially if your just using them for world tour because any stick worth anything shouldnt break on that set. If they do your set is probably already broken.

Those sticks lars uses are like 30$ if im not mistake and those are as expensive as they come.

DO NOT BUY THOSE POS STICKS they sell at walmart and gamestop, they are garbage and way over priced. go to a real music store, and for the same money you'll get a real pair of sticks. not crap which im pretty sure isnt wood.

the sticks that come with the set are a joke too

I'm a fan of Vic Ferth as well. Personally I use 5a, because I've always played with lighter sticks, and theres no concern with breaking them on a rockband drumset.
