so i was playing a song today, and before the song started i was hitting the drums and shit and kicking the bass pedal or whatever, and i noticed that my snare and bass pedal were registering, but weren't making any sound. when i play a song, the red notes all make the snare sound, and you can hear the bass notes, but in fills and before the song it doesn't make any sounds. i don't know what the problem could be, does anybody have any idea what is going on? i suppose it could be my speakers, but i doubt it because i hear everything in the song.

It might be a sensitivity problem. Try getting a sensitivity tuning kit and see if that works.

i have it, its not sensitivity, they all register. they just dont make the sound. i turn my cymbals and blue pad down so that they dont double hit or crosstalk with blue, but i leave my red and foot pedal the same. they register flawlessly.

Sorry bro, I've got nothing. I can't understand how the notes could be resistering on the screen, yet not make sound. Especially if it is only those 2 pads...

Two things:

1. The bass pedal may just be too quiet to hear because bass drums are quiet by nature.

2. You may have enough sensitivity to register notes, but not enough to make enough sound when hitting the note during freestyles. The pads make louder sounds in the game when hit harder, but only during freestyle, beginning of a song, and Music Studio (and Mii Freestyle). I don't know about armored notes though, so those might also. So that's why you can't hear it during freestyles, etc. but you can hear them during the song.

ohh noes! typing error, someone call the police!!
Me - "Hello, 911. I'm calling on the behalf of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Neversoft has failed to spell the name correctly on the game, Guitar Hero: Metallica. This will effect their image and possibly reduce sales for the band. I suggest suing the company."
Police - "Who the fuck do you think you are? WMG? Get off our line."

i mean i noticed the problem when i was trying to beat assassin, but i tried it on another song that i play often and it didn't work then either. i think that the armor notes register too. im tellin you this is the strangest thing ive seen. it might have happend after i adjusted sensitivity, but i left the red green and foot pads the same so i don't understand how just the red and foot ones would be affected.

This happens to me sometimes when I have been playing in practice mode. It happens if I play On slow, slower or slowest. The pads that I hit in one of those speeds will not make any sound when I play before the song starts or during fills in a real run. To solve it (if this is your problem) either restart the game or go to practice mode, play on slowest, and hit every pad (bass and cymbals to) and then change to slower and do the same thing. do this with every speed and it should work. (Again, if this is your problem).
