GH:M double kick problem

I just got GH:M and the double kick is not registering, they work fine individually and alternating very slow, but any fast double kick songs are im possible. It wont register anymore than 2 fast kicks, anyone else have this problem/ fix?

I have been playing shortest straw on X-plus, which I play pretty well IRL, and I cannot keep a combo for any continuous double bass parts. This is using an E-kit with a double bass pedal. I actually do better with this song when I don't look at the screen...

When I first played double bass I had the same problem. To fix it I used the Drum Controller Tuning Kit and raised the sensitivity of the bass pedal real high.

My problem actually seemed to be that I was kicking too slow. I now focus on kicking a little faster and I am able to hold combo for a little bit now...
