|
|
I'm having some trouble hitting two bass pedal notes when they come right after one another, really quick. I can't seem to find a good way of hitting the bass pedal really fast two times in a row, sometimes three. I think I'm about ready to move on to expert but without this skill I'm not exactly sure how much I can keep a combo. Any tips? |

It just takes practice to build up your skill at it. Also, I play "heel-up" rather than "heel-down", which I find easier. _________________

Yeah, I don't know how you coul hit it with heel-down. Just keep practicing with your heel-up and just hit it twice fast. It may take some getting used to. _________________

you are going to want to feel like you are bouncing your foot more than slamming it down twice. it is similar to a drum roll where, instead of hitting the pad as fast as you can, you want to bounce your sticks off the pad. |

After you hit the first note lift your foot slightly and slam it back down. It will take time to build up speed. The WT pedal seems harder to hit fast bass notes than the RB pedal. _________________

With real drums, isn't it also possible to switch really quickly between heel-up and heel-down? Could that apply here? I'm pretty bad with fast bass pedal notes myself, so I'm not sure. |

I am a guy who uses heel down technique. Amazing, isn't it? I try to move my foot to the right spot so I'm not touching the base of the foot pedal, just the pedal itself. From there, I can hit THE fastest double bass hits ever. Seriously. If they actually put the double bass on the intro of critical acclaim, I could fc that. But all I do is a combination of a small twitch, but a really hard slam followed by a really soft one with barely any momentum. But it kind of looks like you move your foot down halfway, trigger it (only on the rock band pedal) and then move up, then slam it all the way down. Hope this helps! _________________
