This was definitely a lot of effort for a joke, but proved to be worth every second. I was glad to see the fake "AFD thread" fooled some of you into thinking I messed up forum permissions making things visible. The reality is the entire forum was the joke, along with the fake admin tools (coded by rkcr - thanks!). We filled the forum with a bunch of hypocritical/fake topics, and mixed in some real staff topics to help balance the legitimacy scale. We then went through and changed timestamps for all the fake posts to make things appear somewhat believable. The real topics are now moved back to where they belong, and the rest of the forum will be forever preserved as a sub-forum within the Hall of Fame (with this topic becoming an announcement there).
Hopefully you all enjoyed this as much as we did, and thanks to everyone who played along taking things to the next level and providing more laughs than we could ever have imagined. We've really got a wonderfully fun and unique community here.
Thanks for participating, and you guys are awesome (as long as you don't possess bansticks)! _________________

I just wanted to see if by the end of the day something was going to happen.
Awesome year. Beats the avatars (which I actually liked. Bring it back!) and the fake themes which drove me crazy. _________________

You guys are awesome :P
I was wondering for a while what the staff had cooked up, but didn't think that it would be anything this grand of a scheme. Both of SH's previous April Fools' Days pranks completely pale in comparison to the events of today. You guys have set the bar pretty high now, good luck with next year ;)
Also, playing along with everything tends to be the funnest part.
Edit: What @ cinder getting banned 10 times.

How bad is it that when I saw that I could see the SH Staff sub-forum, I went and tried to find one of my past posts to see my forum rank and see if I was upgraded to a mod without realizing . It then occurred to me what day it was .
I wonder how many people tried to ban themselves and see what happens (like me )? _________________

Don't worry, you're not alone.
Just added a new stat, "63 members foolishly ban themselves". _________________

To be fair I banned myself first before targeting out the most random mod I could think of, cinder. Hopefully cinder won't appear soon to draw a new design and ban me
zYgote wrote: | I have no idea what this is even supposed to mean but it seems like it reinforces my theory about it being a good idea to stay away from all forums on April 1st. | Yes, I too hate jokes and things that are funny. It was just a well-performed, well planned April Fool's joke by the mods that provided a lot of laughs and some minor confusion (as all April Fool's jokes should )

Yeah, I pretty much avoided scorehero this entire day.
Edit: Okay, that's a lie. I was tempted to ban someone but I resisted the temptation. _________________

This is the reason why I love scorehero so much. The community is great. That general chat rules thread had me going for a bit. Then Bigfatbob got banned and I was like "lolwut". I was about to post something controversial in there, but then I went to IRC and found out it was a joke. Pretty good stuff there.
And I so wanted Nazi Mode to work. _________________

So when it says " The most trigger-happy users..." Did all of the bans who weren't specified go towards Popemobile? _________________

Wow, amazing stuff guys. I remember when I first saw that forum, I thought it was a random glitch that allowed me to see it and I kept lawling for a long time, then I realized it was all a joke haha.
Ya, Cinder 10 times? Wut _________________

Harmonix games are just too good not to play them for 8 years. Officially back in action. |
