Okay, so this is sort of a game... but regardless, it is very fitting.

Try and chart some songs you know... I managed Cowboys from Hell... sorta.

This thing is pretty awesome ^_^
And I've found that, unless you go completely spam-happy, it's almost impossible to make something that sounds bad
Here's an example of something where I just closed my eyes and clicked randomly for about 10 seconds
Code:
65664,36864,1064,8320,66720,16896,70784,18560,4608,66176,9216,2112,73728,8224,69632,0

Just right-click and paste in the Tone Matrix to paste it. Couldn't manage to recreate any actual songs though.

98498,82052,45066,53396,10280,5456,2720,1344,12976,6496,9360,768,115854,8976,16392,94062

I managed to come up with that. Got some sort of harmonizing stuff in it.

If someone could figure out the notes created by each square that would be great.

Found the code pretty quickly with a little copy/paste. Here's how it works:
Each of the large numbers is encoding which notes are on during that column. The note in row x means that the x-th bit is 1 instead of 0. (there are 16 rows and 16 columns) e.g. if the bottom note is on, (the 16th, 2^16, 65,536) and the third note from the top is on, (the 3rd, 2^3, 8) then the number for that column is 65536+8=65544. If no notes are on, it's 0.
To reverse the encoding, let's look at an example, your first note: 98498, which in binary (with 16 bits filled in) is 11000000011000010 so the notes in column 1, rows 1, 2, 11, 12, and 15 are on, and the rest in column 1 are off.
Each of these numbers separated by the commas is one column.
Edit: um...I think I just realized you were talking about musical notes, not the code encoding. Ok, guess you can ignore the rest of my post. I'm not sure, but the vertical differences are the different pitches, and the horizontal differences are the difference in timing (there's an invisible vertical line, if you will, going through from left to right and repeating that plays the notes on its column as it passes...but that's obvious to anyone playing around with it for a minute).
Edit2:
Code:
66306,33924,18504,12336,12336,18504,33924,66306,66306,33924,18504,12336,12336,18504,33924,66306

I like that one, a few different little repeating melodies going on.

It's surprising how much a little toy like this can do, I really like it.
