The Boards
I'd like to start a rivalry that is essentially an FC rivalry, but with a twist -- your streak doesn't end when the song ends. Upon FCing a song, the note streak of the next song you play is added to your ongoing total. You keep going until you miss. Here are the exact rules:
Rules
1. A "chain" is a list of 2 or more songs that have been FCed consecutively without missing. Any miss at any time for any reason ends the chain, just like any miss at any time for any reason ends an FC.
2. You can't repeat the same song in a single chain. Different versions of the same song are okay (e.g. Play With Me 80s and Play With Me SH could both be in the same chain).
3. You don't have to play the songs in one sitting, you can take breaks in between. You can also switch consoles or games between songs. But you can't go into practice mode, play something "just for fun", play at your friend's house, etc. Anything you play counts as an attempt at your chain. The idea is that from the time the chain started to the time it ended you didn't miss a note or overstrum in any Guitar Hero game.
4. To keep this simple: expert guitar only. Only the 660 songs that count towards an FSFC are allowed. That means no DLC, customs, Xbox exclusives, handhelds, etc. No importing songs into a different game.
6. When submitting your chain, please include the note streak of each song. Don't count any notes from the song that you missed in.
If you want to participate, just post your chains in this thread. This will be a "perpetual" rivalry where we constantly compete for the top spot. I'll keep track of everyone's personal best and rank them. Only your highest chain will go on the board, so we don't have 1-2 players taking up all the top spots. I'll track 2 different categories: longest note streak, and most songs FCed in a row.
If you're going to submit something ridiculous, please be able to back it up with proof. The level of proof required will depend on what you're submitting, just be reasonable. No one's going to believe you did TTFAF --> BWoLP --> ItO all in a row without a video. _________________

This seems like a good idea. I would try this in the near future. :) _________________

Interesting but with my consistency at easy stuff, I'll probably break my chain on easy songs lol. _________________

You can have chains for each difficulty, right? Just so long as they don't overlap or something? _________________

Great idea man, I'll do a run on GHVH Today
EDIT:
Panama 268208 773
The Takedown 296912 1129
Master Exploder 395673 846
Come to Life 524,403 999
Atomic Punk 269,668 751
End Of Heartache 551510 1419
Total 2,306,374 5,917
Not bad for a first go, lost the streak on Loss of Control's solo. Glad I got End of Heartache in before then though, that's a really good strategic one for this game. That was really fun, I'll do another tomorrow

Haha, excellent, I wouldn't have thought of that But given how much time I spend playing lately (zero hour per week), I won't join yet. Very cool idea though the fsfc on easy or medium would be hilarious to try !
Alsoooo, to make the chain longer, I guess the best chance you have is to play all the easy songs, then leave ttfaf/bwolp/Mommy's Little Monster as 658, 659 and 660, am I right ?
Pro-tip to anyone wanting to do that on Hard : leave at least Master of Puppets and Trogdor for last |

Arvain: why would you do that!? I would play the hard songs to START the chain, then progress to easier ones _________________

I'm not used to go for TtFaF and say "FC#1 lol", but I guess it would significantly increase your chance to have the highest streak possible.
I miss on easy anyway, so yeah, that's not even a concern for me |

This sounds like fun! Will jump in with this (all expert):
Started off with:
Cliffs of Dover - 322362, 1240NS
Feeling confident with my consistency on this song, I went for:
Cult of Personality (GH3) - 367614, 1278NS
I then went for the cheap option of:
Closer - 277114, 467NS (I forgot the path okay??)
Playing this tune for the first time in a few years...
Ruby - 188654, 463NS
Heading back to the setlist now:
When You Were Young - 279638, 564NS
Decided to change the game to Van Halen:
Cathedral - 127809, 461NS
I then changed again to Warriors of Rock and choked on Suffocated. Yay!
FC streak: 6
Total score: 1,563,191
Note Streak: 4473 _________________
GH1X - 34/47 FCs
GH2X - 48/64 FCs
GH80sX - 22/30 FCs
GH3X - 66/70 FCs
Total - 170/211
TTFAF - 852K |

I'll add an expert Bass list, but I don't really want to do one for all 5 difficulties. If a lot of people want it I guess I can do it, but for now I'll just do expert.
Just stopped home for lunch. Updated the boards, awesome to see people contributing already. I'll be back with a vengeance after work.
A couple more "rules" that just came up:
1. If there is a tie in a category, the person who did it first will be placed higher. E.g. Jleggy12 and locken tied for most songs FCed in a single chain, but Jleggy12 posted first so I put him at #1.
2. For the "most difficult chains" category, which is subjective, I'll just choose whichever one I think. If someone disagrees with their placement on the list, we can hold a vote in this thread or something. _________________

THis is kinda an incentive to actually try for it, tbh.

nonono, you want to do MLM first, then ttfaf (GH3 version, I imagine) and BWoLP third, THEN do everything else. I'd say do R&R 4th, but that's me.

Nono, first and second. you don't want to break your streak because you screwed up either the strumming or the broken sustain, do you?
Barracuda, you missed my question earlier. If someone wants to be on all four lists, do they have to do each separately? _________________
