Well, I've known about this app for a while now (gave the developer a little push in finishing up the app (aka Bugged him over AIM and did a few tests for him :P ) ) but I never really put it to good use, just toyed around with it for a bit. I figure that not many people know of this, and since there's a homebrew community for GH here, someone may be interested in this as well.
The idea is that you take 2 mono DSPs (DK audio file) which you'll have to find out how to produce on your own, and splice them into a stereo DSP which is compatible with Donkey Konga. The drum tracks, like the guitar tracks in Guitar Hero, are just midi files. You can extract and replace files from the Donkey Konga iso using GCTool. You can only replace files with files smaller than the original in GCTool. To use a larger file, you may be able to rebuild the ISO using GCIC (Gamecube ISO Creator). I haven't tried using GCIC personally.
I doubt many, if any, are going to even want to do this, but I figured I'd post it just in case someone out there enjoys fiddling around with this sort of stuff. |
